The Water Framework Directive: What are the Business Opportunities?”

This SCI, Fera and CIWEM Tyne & Humber Branch event is focused on business opportunities around achieving compliance with the WFD. The challenges will be discussed first, including an overview of the regulations; the Humber River Basin Management Plan and some of the challenges that still need to be addressed to meet the objectives of WFD.

Opportunities for business, including instrumentation and contamination control will be presented in the afternoon.

Two panel sessions will provide time to explore issues raised in the preceding presentations.

This event will be of interest to anyone working in businesses, within the region and nationally, who is involved in the use or management of water resources, and to researchers working on measurement and control of water contamination. There will be ample networking opportunities.

There is also an opportunity for poster applications, with £250 awarded to the best one designed . Posters should be based on the theme of “Measurement and Removal of Contaminants in Water'. More information available in the flyer attached.
