Midlands Area Smart Energy Metering
23rd February 2010 Severn Trent Water HQ, Birmingham
The Midlands Area event entitled ‘Smart Energy Metering by 2020; An opportunity to be missed by the Water Industry!’ was a seminar that helped outline the Government‘s plans to install ‘Smart’ energy meters into every household in the UK by 2020.
This complex project will be the largest and most complex change-over programme in the energy industry since the switch to North Sea gas in the 60’s and 70’s.
Dene Marshallsay, consultant with Artesia Consulting provided his expertise and knowledge on the programme by delivering a presentation that outlined the background of the programme and its linkages with water metering.
Dene also questioned whether the project is a missed opportunity for the water industry or whether there is still time to exploit the planned infrastructure for smart energy metering.
Dene’s presentation is available for download below.
