Anglian Water is geographically the largest water company in the UK. We cover over 27,000 square kilometres to provide almost six million customers with over one billion litres of high-quality drinking water every day. Asset Management’s main responsibility is to maintain and improve Anglian Water’s asset base, primarily our treatment works. It schedules the design and construction of new assets, while managing budget spend. Attracting and retaining the right people is essential to our business.

Working within our Innovation Department, you will be responsible for managing wastewater and biosolids treatment projects from their conception through to exploitation within the Innovation Wastewater Programme. The role will require you to research, identify and implement technology solutions that solve real business challenges and are cost effective. You’ll take responsibility for managing projects that have budgets up to £500k and be supporting management in developing innovation programmes and R&D strategy.

This is a diverse role where you’ll gain unique insights into the dynamics of the company as a whole. You will be expected to collate your findings within technical reports, making the relevant recommendations and present the outcomes to the appropriate managers and clients within the business. In addition to this, you will have the ability to work closely with colleagues and you will get the opportunity to guide and mentor innovation technologists and placement students enabling them to carry out their duties. Your support and encouragement will increase productivity and enable us to get the most from our team.

Ideally you will have a science or engineering degree in an appropriate subject plus demonstrable technical ability gained preferably within the water or an associated industry. Excellent communication skills and an ability to make informed decisions, and influence people at all levels will be needed. Ideally you will possess previous supervisory and project management experience and a knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues. Proven experience in the water industry would be an advantage and you must have a valid UK driving licence and your own vehicle.
